Fix SylphSpeak hiding when you click it

Stop SylphSpeak from hiding when you try to click the app. This issue can happen on Windows when the overlay’s transparent areas are allowed to pass clicks through to the app underneath.

Use this fix if:

  • You are using Windows
  • SylphSpeak hides or loses focus when you try to click it
  • You are using a small screen, lower-powered laptop, or multi-GPU laptop
  1. In the Windows taskbar, find the SylphSpeak system tray icon.
  2. Right-click the SylphSpeak icon.
  3. Open Troubleshooting.
  4. Uncheck Allow Click Through Transparent Areas.
  5. Restart SylphSpeak. After restarting, try clicking SylphSpeak again.

The issue is fixed when SylphSpeak stays visible and clickable after you click the overlay.

If SylphSpeak still hides when you click it:

  1. Confirm Allow Click Through Transparent Areas is still unchecked.
  2. Restart SylphSpeak again.
  3. Restart Windows if the behavior does not change.
  4. Contact support if the issue continues.
