2. Scope and Relationship to SabotenAI
This Privacy Policy applies to SylphSpeak, a product operated by SabotenAI LLC.
SylphSpeak is a product name and service name. It is not a separate legal entity unless we expressly state otherwise. References to “SylphSpeak” mean the Service described in this Privacy Policy.
SabotenAI may operate other websites, products, pages, forms, waitlists, account flows, checkout flows, support flows, or product-specific services. Those services may have their own privacy notices or terms.
If there is a conflict between this Privacy Policy and a general SabotenAI website privacy policy, this Privacy Policy controls for SylphSpeak.
Some SylphSpeak-related web flows, such as account sign-in, checkout, billing, customer portal pages, waitlists, early-access forms, product updates, or support requests, may be provided through SabotenAI-controlled pages or third-party providers. Those flows may be governed by this Privacy Policy together with any provider policy or product-specific notice shown to you.
3. Summary
SylphSpeak is a typing-first text-to-speech application. Depending on how you use the Service, we may process account information, subscription information, device information, diagnostic information, settings, text submitted for speech generation, and related usage information.
Some features may work locally on your device. Other features, including cloud text-to-speech, account access, subscription checks, device activation, syncing, diagnostics, support, security functions, checkout, and account management, may require information to be sent to SabotenAI or to third-party service providers.
We do not sell your personal information for money.
We do not intentionally use your typed messages to train SabotenAI-owned general-purpose AI models.
We do not intentionally collect full payment card numbers directly. Payment information is handled by our payment and billing providers.
Voice Protocol lists creators using information they’ve made public or shared with us, and it publishes that information. Any creator can ask to be removed at any time. We include disability or communication-status information only if the creator has publicly disclosed it themselves or shared it with us.
4. Information We Collect
We collect information in the following categories.

We do not guarantee that third-party applications, games, meeting tools, streaming tools, platforms, devices, microphones, virtual audio tools, or audiences where you use SylphSpeak will handle your spoken audio privately. Once audio is routed, played, heard, recorded, captured, stored, streamed, or redistributed by a third-party application or audience, their practices and rules may apply.

- email address;
- message content;
- attachments you provide;
- support issue details;
- account or device information needed to help you;
- communication history.
4A. Voice Protocol Listing Information
Information from public sources. We may create listings for public creators using information they have made publicly available. This is limited to their public name or persona name, public handles, public channel and social links, and publicly displayed avatar or profile image. If a creator has publicly described their own disability or communication status (for example, in a public bio, stream title, or public post), we may also include that self-disclosure.
Information you give us. If you submit or update a listing, we may collect:
- creator or persona name, and pronouns if you give them;
- handles, channel URLs, and social links;
- avatar, model, banner, or logo images, and artist credits;
- bio, description, content categories, languages, and tags;
- how you communicate on stream (for example, typing, chat, text-to-speech, sign language, or AAC);
- optional sensitive information you choose to share, such as being mute, nonverbal, Deaf or hard of hearing, or having a disability or condition that affects speech (see Section 26A);
- contact details used to manage your listing or editorial requests, such as your email or the DM thread (we don’t publish these); and
- records of your submission, requests, and any withdrawal of permission (date, method, and handle used).
If you contact us by direct message on a third-party platform, that platform also processes your messages under its own policies.
4B. Voice Protocol Editorial and Business Contacts
If you email editorial@voiceprotocol.co (interviews, features, stories, corrections) or partners@voiceprotocol.co (sponsorships, business opportunities, creator partnerships), we collect your name, contact details, and message, and we use them to respond and manage the relationship. Interview answers or quotes you give for publication may be published as part of editorial content.
You can also send those notes through the Voice Protocol contact form. The form collects the same details, plus how you heard about Voice Protocol and, if you give one, the creator the note is about.
5. Information You Choose to Share Through the Service
You are responsible for the text, messages, phrases, settings, audio, and other content you choose to enter, generate, route, play, or share through SylphSpeak.
Do not enter or speak information through SylphSpeak unless you are comfortable with that information being processed as described in this Privacy Policy and potentially heard, captured, recorded, stored, moderated, logged, or redistributed by the third-party applications, platforms, calls, games, streams, meetings, devices, or audiences where you use the Service.
SylphSpeak is not designed for transmitting highly sensitive information, regulated medical information, legal secrets, financial credentials, passwords, emergency information, or other information requiring guaranteed confidentiality, guaranteed delivery, or specialized compliance.
Optional filtering, safety, substitution, pronunciation, moderation, or speech-rule features are best-effort tools only. They may fail, misclassify content, allow unwanted content, alter meaning, miss private information, or behave differently across languages, providers, voices, contexts, and settings.
6. How We Use Information
We may use information to:
- provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Service;
- create and manage accounts;
- authenticate users;
- process subscriptions, payments, invoices, taxes, and renewals;
- activate and manage devices;
- enforce plan limits, entitlements, cooldowns, and usage rules;
- generate speech through selected voice providers;
- provide local and cloud text-to-speech features;
- remember user settings and preferences;
- troubleshoot bugs, crashes, performance issues, routing issues, and provider errors;
- provide customer support;
- send service-related notices;
- send product updates, if you have opted in or where otherwise permitted;
- secure the Service;
- prevent misuse, unauthorized access, payment issues, and violations of our Terms;
- comply with legal obligations;
- respond to lawful requests;
- protect the rights, safety, and property of users, the public, third-party platforms, providers, and us;
- evaluate and improve product quality, reliability, usability, and performance;
- develop new features and services;
- research, create, publish, organize, and maintain Voice Protocol listings and editorial content;
- promote Voice Protocol and listed creators, including through social posts and shareable previews;
- send newsletters you’ve signed up for and run surveys and research you’ve agreed to take part in;
- respond to editorial, correction, partnership, and privacy requests;
- verify that requests come from the creator or their authorized representative; and
- keep records of removals, withdrawals of permission, and do-not-relist requests.
7. Cloud TTS, Local TTS, AI-Assisted Tools, and Upstream Providers
SylphSpeak may support both cloud-based and local text-to-speech features.
Cloud TTS
When you use cloud text-to-speech, the text you submit and related request information may be sent to SabotenAI and/or to third-party voice providers so speech can be generated and returned to your device.
Cloud text-to-speech processing may include:
- text submitted for speech;
- selected voice;
- selected language;
- provider information;
- request timing;
- error information;
- account or entitlement checks;
- diagnostic information needed to operate the feature.
Third-party voice providers may process this information under their own terms, privacy policies, data-processing terms, retention rules, and security practices.
Local TTS
When you use local text-to-speech, speech may be generated through your operating system, installed voices, or local device capabilities.
Local text-to-speech may reduce the need to send text to a cloud voice provider, but it may still interact with your operating system, local settings, device permissions, logs, or app diagnostics.
The exact behavior depends on your operating system, installed voices, selected settings, and device configuration.
AI-Assisted Tools
SabotenAI may use AI-assisted tools to help write, review, debug, summarize, classify, analyze, support, or improve SylphSpeak and related business operations.
These tools may include coding assistants, writing assistants, support tools, analytics assistants, automation tools, or other AI-enabled services. They may rely on upstream AI model providers, infrastructure providers, or subprocessors.
When practical, we avoid submitting sensitive personal information to AI-assisted tools. However, if you include personal information in messages, feedback, bug reports, support requests, logs, screenshots, recordings, or other submissions, portions of that information may be processed by AI-assisted tools to help us understand, respond to, classify, summarize, debug, support, secure, or improve the Service.
We do not intentionally use your typed messages to train SabotenAI-owned general-purpose AI models.
Third-party voice providers, AI-assisted tools, and other upstream providers may process information under their own terms, privacy policies, data-processing terms, retention rules, and security practices. Their providers and subprocessors may change over time.
You should not enter or send confidential, sensitive, regulated, or highly personal information through SylphSpeak unless you understand and accept the risks of using the selected feature, provider, device, audio route, and third-party application.
8. Diagnostics, Telemetry, Logs, and Support Data
To provide, troubleshoot, secure, and improve SylphSpeak, we may collect or process diagnostic, telemetry, log, and support information.
This may include:
- application version;
- operating system;
- device activation state;
- subscription or entitlement status;
- selected settings or feature states;
- provider errors;
- crash reports;
- timing metrics;
- routing states;
- playback events;
- update status;
- error messages;
- performance information;
- security events;
- misuse-prevention signals;
- support messages;
- screenshots, logs, recordings, or files you choose to send us for support.
Some telemetry may be necessary to operate core account, billing, activation, security, update, entitlement, crash-reporting, or cloud text-to-speech features. Other analytics or product-improvement telemetry may be optional if we provide controls for it.
We use diagnostic and telemetry information to operate the Service, troubleshoot bugs, improve reliability, detect errors, prevent misuse, understand feature performance, support users, and maintain security.
Diagnostic logs, crash reports, or support files may accidentally include personal information if that information appears in file paths, device names, settings, messages, screenshots, logs, audio routes, provider errors, or support materials you choose to provide. You should review support materials before sending them to us.
We do not guarantee that diagnostics, telemetry, crash reporting, or support logs will identify or resolve every issue.
9. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Our websites (sylphspeak.com, including Voice Protocol at sylphspeak.com/protocol/, vptcl.co, and voiceprotocol.co), our account portal, our checkout pages, and the SylphSpeak app may use cookies, local storage, pixels, SDKs, and similar technologies.
- Essential technologies keep the site working, keep you signed in, remember your cookie choices, run checkout, and protect against abuse. These are always on.
- Analytics technologies help us understand how people find and use our sites and app. These are optional where the law requires consent (see Section 10).
You can manage your choices with our cookie banner or “Cookie preferences” link, and through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect some features.
10. Analytics and Product Improvement
We use analytics to understand traffic, popular pages, how people reach us, outbound link clicks (including clicks to creators’ channels on Voice Protocol), performance, and errors. We use the results to improve our sites, products, and Voice Protocol. We may share aggregate statistics, such as listing views, with creators or partners.
Google Analytics (GA4). We use Google Analytics on our websites, including Voice Protocol. Google Analytics uses cookies (such as _ga and _ga_<ID>) and similar identifiers to collect information such as pages viewed, referring sites, approximate location (derived from IP address, which GA4 does not store), device and browser details, session information, and interactions. Google processes this information on our behalf as a service provider/processor. Google may also use certain data for its own purposes as described in Google’s terms, such as maintaining and improving its services. Learn more at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can opt out of Google Analytics on every website with Google’s browser add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. We keep Google Signals and Google’s advertising features turned off.
Umami. We may also use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool. As we configure it, Umami doesn’t use cookies, doesn’t track you across sites, and reports only aggregate statistics.
PostHog. The SylphSpeak website and app may use PostHog for product analytics, such as feature usage, navigation, errors, and performance. In the app, PostHog may use a device or installation identifier. PostHog records specific interactions, such as clicks on certain elements and reaching certain scroll points. We don’t use PostHog session recording or replay, and PostHog doesn’t capture your keystrokes or the text you type in the app. If we turn on session recording in the future, we’ll update this policy first and mask text inputs.
Consent and opt-outs.
- EU, UK, and Switzerland: we only set analytics cookies or similar identifiers (Google Analytics, and PostHog on the web) after you accept them in our cookie banner. You can change your mind at any time with “Cookie preferences.” Essential cookies and cookieless Umami don’t require consent.
- United States: we use analytics to measure and improve our own sites, not for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have configured Google Analytics so it doesn’t support ad targeting, and we treat Google as our service provider, so we don’t consider this a “sale” or “sharing” under California law. If our practices change, we’ll update this policy and give you the opt-out choices the law requires. Where required, we honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) and similar browser opt-out signals as a request to opt out of sale/sharing for that browser, and we turn off non-essential analytics for that browser where practical. You can also decline analytics in our cookie banner at any time.
- We don’t use analytics to infer anyone’s disability or health status.
International transfers. Google, PostHog, and other providers may process analytics data in the United States and other countries. Where the law requires it, we rely on safeguards such as the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework (where the provider is certified) or Standard Contractual Clauses.
10A. Newsletters and Email Updates (SylphSpeak and Voice Protocol)
What we collect. When you sign up for a SylphSpeak or Voice Protocol newsletter, we collect your email address, and optionally your name and topic preferences. We also collect the signup date, source, and confirmation record, and the IP address used to sign up.
Why. We use this information to send the updates you asked for, such as product news, Voice Protocol features and creator spotlights, launches, and events, and to keep a record of your consent.
Consent. We send newsletters only to people who signed up. We may ask you to confirm your signup by email (double opt-in). The signup form tells you which lists you’re joining. We’ll send you news from other SabotenAI brands (SabotenAI, SylphSpeak, Voice Protocol) only if the signup form says so or you choose to receive it.
Unsubscribe any time. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also email privacy@sabotenai.com or privacy@voiceprotocol.co. We process unsubscribes promptly, within 10 business days in the U.S. We may still send service or transactional messages, for example about your account or billing.
Email tracking. Our emails may use pixels and tracked links to measure delivery, opens, and clicks. You can limit this by turning off image loading or reading emails in plain text.
Email provider. We use an email service provider, currently Resend, to send and manage emails. It processes your information on our behalf. We may change providers, and any replacement will process your information under similar safeguards.
Retention. We keep your subscription data until you unsubscribe. After you unsubscribe, we keep your email address on a suppression list so we don’t email you again, along with records of your consent and unsubscribe for compliance.
Legal basis. In the EU and UK, consent. In Canada, express consent under CASL. Our emails identify the sender, SabotenAI LLC, and include contact information and an unsubscribe link, as required by CAN-SPAM and CASL.
10B. Surveys, Interviews, and User Research
Joining the research list. You can choose to be contacted about surveys, interviews, beta tests, and other user research about SylphSpeak, Voice Protocol, or other SabotenAI products. Taking part is always voluntary, and you can skip any question. Research is generally for people 18 and older (see Section 21M of our Terms).
What we collect. Your contact details, any background you choose to share (for example, your platform, the tools you use, or how you communicate), your responses, and, only if you agree at the time, recordings or transcripts of interviews.
How we use it. We use it to improve our products, services, content, and Voice Protocol. We may publish findings in anonymized or aggregate form, for example: “70% of respondents use TTS on stream.” We’ll only quote you or identify you publicly with your permission.
Incentives. If we offer an incentive (such as a gift card, credit, or prize draw), the specific offer and any official rules will be stated when you’re invited. We don’t guarantee incentives unless they’re stated in writing for that study.
Tools we use. We may use third-party survey, form, and scheduling tools to run research. We may also use AI-assisted tools, operated by us, to organize, summarize, and analyze responses. These providers process responses on our behalf, and we don’t let them use your responses to train their own AI models where we can control that setting.
Please don’t share confidential information, other people’s personal information, or sensitive information you don’t want us to have.
Leaving the research list. You can leave at any time by emailing privacy@sabotenai.com or privacy@voiceprotocol.co, or by using the link in a research email. We keep responses we’ve already collected in anonymized or aggregate form, and we may delete or de-identify identifiable research data when we no longer need it.
Legal basis. In the EU and UK: consent to be contacted and to participate, and legitimate interests for analyzing responses to improve our products. Any sensitive information you choose to share (for example, about disability) is processed on the basis of your explicit consent.
10C. Sharing Within the SabotenAI Family
SylphSpeak and Voice Protocol are operated by SabotenAI LLC. Newsletter and research data is held by SabotenAI LLC and is used across our brands only as described in Sections 10A and 10B.

With Your Direction or Consent
We may share information when you direct us to do so, consent to sharing, connect a third-party service, submit information to a third-party provider, or use features that require sharing to function.
13. Third-Party Services
The Service may link to or interoperate with third-party services, including games, meeting apps, streaming tools, social platforms, voice providers, operating systems, audio devices, virtual audio tools, stores, marketplaces, payment processors, and account providers.
We do not control the privacy practices of third-party services. Their privacy policies and terms apply to their collection and use of information.
You are responsible for reviewing the privacy practices of third-party services you use with SylphSpeak.
14. Data Retention
We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, operate our business, comply with law, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent misuse, maintain security, and support legitimate business purposes.

- minimal records (such as handle, request, and date) may be kept as long as needed to honor removal and do-not-relist requests, comply with law, resolve disputes, and show that we handled requests properly;
- editorial, partnership, and correction correspondence may be kept as long as reasonably needed for business and legal purposes;
- newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe, and suppression and consent records are kept after that (see Section 10A);
- identifiable research data is kept while it’s needed for the study and then deleted or de-identified;
- de-identified or aggregated information, including anonymized research findings, may be retained longer.
When information is no longer needed, we may delete, de-identify, aggregate, or archive it.
15. Deleting Your Account or Information

We may disclose these categories to service providers, payment processors, authentication providers, cloud providers, voice providers, analytics providers, support tools, security providers, professional advisors, and legal authorities where appropriate.

We collect, use, and disclose personal information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including providing SylphSpeak, managing accounts and subscriptions, generating speech, supporting users, securing the Service, troubleshooting issues, improving reliability, and complying with legal obligations.
You may request access to or correction of personal information we maintain about you. You may also contact us with questions or concerns about our privacy practices.
We use safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information and the nature of the processing. However, no software, network, system, device, audio route, or transmission method is completely secure.

21. European, United Kingdom, Swiss, and International Privacy Rights
This section applies only if and to the extent European, United Kingdom, Swiss, or similar privacy laws apply to our processing of your personal information.
Where applicable, our legal bases for processing may include:
- performance of a contract, such as providing the Service, account access, subscriptions, device activation, and support;
- legitimate interests, such as improving the Service, securing the Service, preventing misuse, troubleshooting, and communicating with users;
- consent, where required, such as certain optional communications or optional settings, newsletters, research participation, and publishing Voice Protocol listings you submit;
- legitimate interests, for publishing a directory and editorial content about public creators based on information they’ve made public, balanced against creators’ rights and supported by easy removal;
- for disability, health, or communication-status information: explicit consent when you share it with us (Article 9(2)(a) GDPR/UK GDPR), or the fact that you have manifestly made it public yourself (Article 9(2)(e));
- the journalistic and editorial purposes exemptions recognized by applicable law, where they apply to editorial content;
- legal obligations, such as tax, accounting, compliance, and lawful requests.
Where applicable, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing, receive a copy of your information, or withdraw consent.
You can object to processing based on legitimate interests or withdraw consent at any time. See Section 26A.
If you are located outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where SabotenAI or our service providers operate. These countries may have privacy laws different from those in your location.
Where required, we will use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
To make an international privacy request, contact us at privacy@sabotenai.com.
22. Children’s Privacy
SylphSpeak is a general-audience service and is not directed to children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without legally required parental consent.
If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without legally required parental consent, we may delete the account and associated information.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us at privacy@sabotenai.com.
Voice Protocol is not directed to children under 13. We don’t knowingly publish disability, health, or communication-status information about anyone under 18, and we only accept that kind of information from people who are 18 or older. If we learn that we’ve published sensitive information about a minor, we’ll remove it. Parents and guardians can contact privacy@voiceprotocol.co.
23. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information.
However, no software, network, system, device, account, data transmission, storage method, audio route, or internet service is completely secure.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device, operating system, account credentials, payment credentials, audio configuration, third-party integrations, and local files.
If you believe your account or information has been compromised, contact us at security@sabotenai.com.
24. Sensitive Information
SylphSpeak is not designed for transmitting highly sensitive information, regulated medical information, legal secrets, financial credentials, passwords, emergency information, or information requiring guaranteed confidentiality, guaranteed delivery, or specialized compliance.
You should not enter, generate, route, speak, or share sensitive information through the Service unless you understand and accept the risks.
Where the Service processes sensitive information because you choose to provide it, we use it only as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, process your request, support your account, secure the Service, comply with law, or as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy.
For how Voice Protocol handles disability, health, and communication-status information, see Section 26A.
25. Business Customers, Workplaces, and Schools
If you use SylphSpeak through a workplace, school, organization, team, or other business customer, that organization may have its own policies, account controls, monitoring practices, retention rules, and privacy obligations.
Your organization may be able to access or control information associated with your use of the Service through that organization, depending on the arrangement.
This Privacy Policy does not replace your organization’s policies or obligations.
26. Public or Shared Environments
When you use SylphSpeak in calls, games, meetings, streams, recordings, voice chats, public channels, shared devices, workplace systems, school systems, or third-party platforms, other people or services may hear, record, capture, moderate, store, redistribute, or respond to your audio.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party applications, platforms, audiences, communities, employers, schools, stream viewers, recording tools, or other environments where you choose to use SylphSpeak.
26A. Sensitive Information in Voice Protocol
Some creators choose to say that they are mute, nonverbal, Deaf or hard of hearing, disabled, or that they communicate differently. This information may be sensitive personal information under applicable law.
- Where it comes from. We include it only if the creator has publicly self-disclosed it or has shared it with us directly. We never guess, infer, or label it from someone’s content, voice, or behavior.
- Sharing with us means permission to publish. When you share this information with us for Voice Protocol, you agree that we may publish it on your listing and in related promotion. We tell you this when you share it. We may choose not to publish some or all of it.
- 18+ only. Only share this information if you’re 18 or older.
- Limited use. We use it only to display and promote your listing. We don’t use it for advertising profiles, we don’t sell it, and we don’t share it except as needed with our service providers.
- You can withdraw. You can withdraw your permission or ask us to remove the information at any time by contacting privacy@voiceprotocol.co. Withdrawal applies going forward: we’ll remove it from our live listing within a reasonable time. Withdrawal doesn’t affect what happened before it, and we can’t recall copies that others have already shared, archived, or cached. We may keep minimal records of the request and of what was published, as needed for legal and compliance purposes.
26B. Public Listings and Third-Party Copies
Once something is published on Voice Protocol, others may see, share, link, screenshot, quote, index, or archive it, including search engines and automated crawlers that we don’t control. When we remove content, we may ask search engines to refresh their caches where practical, but we can’t guarantee that copies made by others will disappear.
26C. Managing or Removing a Listing
Any creator can ask to correct, update, remove sensitive details from, or delete their Voice Protocol listing at any time, whether or not they asked to be listed. Contact privacy@voiceprotocol.co for privacy, removal, and consent requests, or editorial@voiceprotocol.co for corrections to editorial content. You can also message an official Voice Protocol account from your listed handle. We may verify that the request comes from you. When you ask to be removed, we’ll also add you to a do-not-relist record unless you tell us otherwise.
27. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
When we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to provide notice, such as updating the “Last Updated” date, posting a notice, sending an email, displaying an in-app notice, or requesting renewed acknowledgement where appropriate.
Your continued use of the Service after the updated Privacy Policy becomes effective means you acknowledge the updated Privacy Policy.
